Kwaito star Mandoza’s cancer battle in recovery
Mandoza’s cancer battle has been successful after a long and difficult journey. He struggled with the disease for most of last year but has now been given a clean bill of health.
His wife, Mpho spoke to TMG Entertainment and shared the good news of Mandoza overcoming his condition.
Mandoza’s cancer battle made it to local news headlines after he was rushed to hospital twice during a two month time frame last year.
Before the severity of his condition was discovered his family reportedly thought that his health problems were a result of sinus issues. During July last year he endured a sinus operation after he collapsed at his house.
His family wanted to keep his illness private so that all of their concentration could be focused on helping him get better.
Mandoza’s cancer battle has seen him undergo treatments over several months and it’s with great relief that they have worked and he is in a better space health wise.
“We first found out that he had cancer in May last year after he went for a number of tests. He suffered with his eyes for a few months and was in-and-out of hospital until doctors detected the cancer. Luckily they detected it early and he was able to go for treatment immediately. He has officially been declared cancer free‚ which is amazing. Mandoza is doing much better and is even back in studio working on new music. There’s no other way to describe it other than he was overjoyed. He always says that he is happy that he didn’t become a victim of cancer and that he won the battle.” Mpho told TMG Entertainment
Mandoza’s cancer battle and victory has left the musician with motivation to educate people about cancer.
Mpho also said…
“He wants to educate people about cancer. If doctors didn’t detect the cancer early he could have died. He wants people to move away from the stigma that comes with such diseases.”
