Jethro Tait ‘SAD’ gets Aidin Caye Techno remix of hit single
“Sad” is the follow up single from Jethro Tait after his 2019 release “Who You Are” as well as the successful collaboration with DJ Kent “The Words”.
The song offers an open and honest account about trying to move on from feeling down.
While “Sad” covers this serious yet relatable topic lyrically, the tune is catchy and upbeat.
The single brought with it an impressive string of Top 10s on major national radio stations and is without a doubt the most successful radio single from the singer/songwriter.
Following the release of his debut EP in April of this year, Aidin Caye brings his own perspective to the downbeat original with his signature melodic sound.
While still paying homage to the emotive nature of the original and its singer/songwriter roots, the essence of the song is not lost.
With elements of the original groove, this new version brings you hard hitting bass tied together with uplifting chords and a dark new vocal melody that’s guaranteed to get you going on your next Zoom party.
More on ‘SAD’
SAD, offers an open and honest account about trying to move on from feeling down.
The track, as the artist explains, was shaped and inspired by three main ideas. “Firstly, I’ve always struggled with over thinking and depression.
The latter makes me feel sad a lot of the time and my outlook on life isn’t always as positive as I would like it to be. This is the most surface level of the song.
“Then I’m very introverted, so social situations are very difficult and stressful for me. In my experience people struggle to understand that I’m just a quiet person and they try to get more out of me than I am able to give.
“Lastly, the song is about me trying to accept and own these parts of who I am. It’s me opening up about my depression and social anxiety and expressing that, although I sometimes wish I felt differently or was more social, I don’t want to apologise or feel bad about it anymore,” he says.
While SAD covers this serious yet relatable issue lyrically, the tune is catchy and upbeat. “Not everyone struggles with the same issues, but we all have things that we’re dealing with and, in a general sense, would like to move past.
Although the lyrics are quite introspective, I intentionally created the upbeat instrumental contrast. Hopefully it will make people want to dance!”
