Danny Rampling Q&A
• Comments on Danny’s first visit to SA & any subsequent Visits
“When Apartheid finished mid-nineties, I believe I was one of the first leading UK DJ’s to play in SA on a UK DJ magazine, Lakota, club tour with Deli G. It was an incredible experience to witness the positive change that was unfolding. I DJ’d in Jo’burg and Cape Town on that first trip and instantly became a lover of South Africa. Subsequently I have returned many times including DJ’ing on themillennium eve of the year 2000 at River Club in Cape Town to 30,000 people, whilst also being broadcast live across the world. That was one of many memorable visits to SA – it was an amazing outdoor party. I was last in SA in 2011 for a big day out festival on the beach in Durban followed by DJ’ing at club Origins with Roger Goode.”

“I have been, for quite some time, attempting to co-produce a track with good friend DJ Dino Moran from Cape town which I’m sure will happen at some point since we share similar music styles and taste.”
• What impression does Danny hope to leave behind in SA which ties-in with his overall career/global presence?
“I enjoy coming to this wonderful country to DJ; playing to fun crowds who totally appreciate house music, and always depart with new inspiration musically.”
