Instagram live streams now come with copyright warning
For DJs doing Instagram live streams they are now likely to have a pop-up notification flash up during their stream.
Instagram has started to warn against DJ live streams that are using copyrighted music.
If the user does not comply, after being notified to stop broadcasting copyrighted music, their live streams are then muted or taken down.
Instagram have actually made it clear on their website:
“Updates include making notifications clearer and surfacing notifications earlier to live broadcasters, to give people time to adjust their streams and avoid interruptions if we detect they may be approaching our limitations. And if your video is muted or blocked, we’ll make it clear what actions you can take to stop the interruption.”
This does not only apply to DJs doing live streams, it applies to any content creator.
The platform suggests creators make use of the FREE music on Facebook’s Sound Collection, rather than infringe copyright on published music.
Anyway this should not really surprise anybody, Facebook owns Instagram.
We suggest you try Twitch for your live stream.
