In The City 2016 will now be a 3 day event
In The City 2016 will take place over three days this year. On the line-up Eats Everything and Foster The People will feature as international headliners.
Joburg will get to experience a three day weekend music festival that is shaping up to be a phenomenal music experience. In The City 2016 will be the first time that the event takes place over a few days.
The weekend will cater to the tastes of electronic, house, urban, hip-hop, indie and everything in between.
The headliners
Foster the People is an award winning American indie band and they will headline In The City 2016 on Sunday the 9th of October.
Daniel Pearce, also known as as Eats Everything, will headline the event on Friday the 7th of October. Eats Everything has played at Snowbombing, Ultra Music Festival and at Coachella as part of JESuS.
Fridays are for electronic music lovers
If you’re into electronic dance music then the Friday night is for you. They will be featuring some of the best in local underground electro, deep house, and techno. You will be treated to the boundary pushing electronic sounds that Joburg clubbers have become accustomed to.
On Saturday the 8th of October, Braamfontein will be turned into a tropical beach paradise for the Virgin Mobile Braam Beach Party, complete with beach sand, and you in your summer rags. Local South African house and hip hop acts will be serving up the tunes.
Sunday is the big day out
The last day of In The City 2016 will take place on Sunday the 9th of October at Emmarentia Dam. You’ll get to party in the city park, frolic in the grass and check out international acts fresh from playing at Rocking the Daisies in Cape Town.
