Human Traffic sequel – iconic rave culture movie
The Human Traffic sequel is a follow up to an iconic rave culture movie of the same era as Trainspotting, another cult classic. Filming for Trainspotting 2 is officially underway and now the Human Traffic sequel has been announced, which makes next year a good one for nostalgic nineties films.
The nineties is officially a long time ago and a revival of youth culture during the decade is as much fashionable as it is endearing. If you were a teen or twenty something in the years between 1990 and 1999 then the Human Traffic sequel might be on your list along with the highly anticipated Trainspotting 2.
Justin Kerrigan, who is the original director and writer is leading the way with the Human Traffic sequel. He plans on breathing new life into a film that perfectly depicted the young lives of many people.
Social media was utilised in the promotion of the new film. A few months ago a Facebook fanpage popped up and it was titled “Human Traffic: The Revolution”. The description reads: “Friends reunite to have fun in Ibiza!”.
It is quite the interesting guessing game to ponder what the new version will consist of, and just how much of modern pop and alternative culture will make it into the final cut.
Danny Dyer, a central character in the 1999 original, tweeted the following giving fans an eager tid bit. “Moff. One of my favourite characters ever. That’s all I’m saying on the matter. ;)”
At this point there is no confirmation as to who will be in the Human Traffic sequel. For the most part and what is most probably quite exciting for fans, is that at least they know that with the original writer and director the story will undoubtedly be followed up authentically. With rave culture experiencing a significant commercial boom in the last few years, a sequel film such as this is pretty much right on time.
