GUAPTunes launches with 1GB free data from AlwaysOn
GUAPTunes has launched and they are offering 1GB of free data from AlwaysOn as part of the deal.
GUAPTunes is a new mobile music and video app that allows you to control your data use. It was created by Jerome Pikwane who is also a New York Film Academy graduate.
With GUAPTunes you get to create your own mobile music and video channel. It’s a free Android app and as an incentive, the first twenty thousand downloads will receive 1GB of free data from Wi-Fi internet services provider AlwaysOn.
Says Jerome Pikwane…
GUAPTunes is a hybrid between music television and YouTube, all presented on a custom-built music-focussed mobile platform. It puts all the awesomeness of the music industry at your fingertips, while giving you the power to actively manage your data consumption and expenses.”
The way you are able to control your data consumption is that you are enabled to manipulate and select part of the video stream without it affecting the quality of the sound. GUAPTunes also offers a personalised audio option.
This lets you listen to your favourite music as an audio file only, therefore using even less data. With the app you will also have access to a blog that shares news posts with the latest going on in the local and international music industry. GUAPTunes is a locally founded streaming app and it sounds like they may have something good going on here, go ahead and download the app to check it out and support local at the same time.
The idea behind the name for the app comes from ‘GUAP’ which is street slang for wealth or abundance. With GUAPTunes you will have access to music from the hip hop, R&B, kwaito, and house scenes by artists from all over the world.
