Gorillaz to host a global listening party to showcase their new album, Humanz
The virtual reality luminary known as Gorillaz are releasing a new album titled ‘Humanz’ on the 28th of April, 2017. This is guaranteed to be a release like no other.
Gorillaz will be showcasing their new album in the form of a global listening party where fans will be able to tune into the ‘Humanz House Party’ and hear ‘Humanz’ in full through an augmented reality app.
In this augmented reality, the technology allows for users to view images in a superimposed way through their phone cameras, as can be seen in the bands new videos. This house party will take place on the day of the release- 28 April, 2017.
Feel Good
Gorillaz have always been on a mission to transcend boredom and catapult listeners into distant lands where imagination blooms.
Gorillaz as a band is comprised of only 1 sole musical contributor, co-founder Damon Albarn. The rest of the musicality comes from collaborations with a plethora of different musicians, rappers and other artists alike. Jamie Hewlett is the animating wizard behind creating their virtual visual world.
That’s not all…
I remember always wishing that I could see their house or immerse myself in their reality and now it’s happening. We can register to get access to Gorillaz Spirit House.
Having linked with Sonos, Gorillaz has constructed special spaces with its new Playbase speakers that will exhibit music as well as visuals through physical installations and projection mapping. These access points will take place in Brooklyn from 21-23 April, Berlin from 28-30 April and Amsterdam on May 6.
Jamie Hewlett also announced that he is working on a 10-episode TV series about Gorillaz.
The future is also looking bright as we will see them use today’s technology to create fully animated live shows! (Who could forget the 2006 Grammy performance.)
They are a year away from fully fledged live shows, but interviews and such are a go.
Gorillaz is blasting through all dimensions and taking us on a trip we will never forget.
