GoodLuck launches Get Lucky Records
African musicians can now get lucky with Get Lucky Records!
GoodLuck is a multiple award-winning live electronic band hailing from Cape Town.
With 9 radio #1 charting hits and acclaimed live shows that has toured Europe, the UK and Africa, they definitely know what it takes to make it in the music industry and now they want to help others achieve success as well.
Get Lucky Records (international platforms) and Sony Music Africa will focus on finding solely African talent for the international market.
GoodLuck is also in talks with Bridges for Music to give back to the non-profit organisation with the hope to encourage Africa’s undiscovered talent to achieve global reach.
In celebration of the launch of Get Lucky, the band released their new single and first on the label, Be Yourself, which features their close friend and DJ from the Netherlands, Boris Smith.
To Get Lucky you need to Be Yourself
The idea for the label came from GoodLuck’s steps towards entering the international market by signing to ULTRAmusic in 2016, and wanting to open opportunities for Africans to follow suit.
The single Be Yourself is a testament to the idea of the label, as lead vocalist Juliet Harding says:
“It’s (the lyrics) an honest look into one’s self-worth and encourages everyone to be who they are and ignore the pressure to conform. There are so many people in the world and we’re all especially unique. We should not just fit in and have the courage to stop worrying about what everyone else thinks. It’s an uplifting track and pushes you to dance how you want to dance and ultimately be happy.’’
