Goldfish presents new single, “If I Could Find”, off their forthcoming album
The funky-electro-jazz men are back as Goldfish presents new single, “If I Could Find.”
The name Goldfish immediately transports me to the sexy sax progression of Fort Knox, an oldie but will always be gold.
They are one of the most immersive and energetic acts to see live, as they beautifully marry electronica with funk and jazz, playing the sax, flute, bass and keyboard during their shows.
It is impossible to ignore the groove, as you find your body seamlessly moving to their sultry sounds, all the while smiling, as their sounds are summery all year round.
They are about to release a new album, “Late Night People” but for now, they are reeling you in with the release of two singles from the album; previously released “Deep Of The Night” and the newly released “If I Could Find.”
If I Could Find a new state of mind
“If I Could Find” is laced with their classic jazzy chords as its saxophone melodies swirl around well-crafted beats, and accompanied by rising vocals. It is an elegantly crafted piece of music that’s sure to transport you to the ‘endless summer’ sound they are so well known for.
Goldfish: “This song was born on the road, while driving up the winding mountain passes in Colorado for a show at the legendary Belly Up in Aspen. We had the track session plugged into the aux input of our car and we were working on it while our tour manager drove. It was such inspiring scenery going by as Dave came up with the opening line ‘If I could find a new state of mind…’ and from there, we pretty much had most of the song done by the time we arrived in Aspen. The lyrics allude to a place that we are always chasing – escaping the myriad distractions of this world that are constantly pulling us away from living our best selves.”
Their new album – Late Night People – will be out on 6 October 2017.
