The Muizenberg Unity Jam offers music, talks, activities, art and more for the whole family.
Unity Jam is a community festival aimed at supporting the community by providing a platform for charities, NGOS, and artists to share their work and helping grow local tourism opportunities by encouraging people to explore and spend time in the iconic beach resort of Muizenberg.
Unity Jam hosted their first festival in Langa in 2014, the Muizenberg 2019 edition is the second festival produced by the Unity Jam Team.
The event in Langa attracted crowds from all walks of life through strategic music programming. We hope to build on this by not only focusing on great music but by offering a wide range of activities that also appeal to families.
What’s on offer?
The Unity Jam offers a plethora of entertainment, including:
Music – there will be a wide range of music from brass bands to inclusive hip hop, SKA to classical music. Musicians will perform on 3 outdoor stages, in intimate existing venues (e.g. The Striped Horse) and in larger indoor venues like the Pavilion.
Brain food – a wide range of talks on topics from the environment to neuroscience. We will also provide children’s activities where kids will be able to learn more about beach safety, sharks and fishing
A chance to get active – visitors will have a chance to experience mountain hikes, yoga, surfing lessons, sailing, putt putt and beach activities
Art – Muizenberg is home to some extremely talented artists, visitors will be able to meet these artists in their studios
Theatre – our local children’s theatre group are putting together a magical show
Relax and enjoy – enjoy the beach, get to know the locals, have something to eat at one of the many restaurants, dance and participate
