Gemini Major quits Cassper Nyovest’s Family Tree label
Gemini Major has left the Family Tree record label run by Cassper Nyovest. This move is motivated by the artist’s ambition to start his own imprint and make that his main focus. He’s worked on many of the hits that came out of Family Tree, proving himself again and again.
Tracks on his résumé include jams like Cassper Nyovest’s ‘Fever’ featuring StoneBwoy, ‘Mmangwane’, ‘Skelm’, ‘Same Chair As Kanye’, ‘Super Ex’, and ‘My Heart’ featuring Diamond Platnumz.
Gemini Major has also produced and featured on ‘Ragga Ragga’ with Cassper Nyovest, Nadia Nakai, and Riky Rick who he also worked on with ‘Sidlukotini’. He has also worked with DA L.E.S on the track ‘Lifestyle’, ‘So High’ and ‘Saucin’. He also produced Represent, Pressure and Switched for Nasty C.
New Imprint
The new record label will be run in partnership with DA L.E.S ‘Fresh 2 Def’ label. This Malawian born producer has been on a creative tier since he first arrived in South Africa eight years ago. He has worked himself into a position where he is one of the most sought after local rappers.
“It has been a great journey with special memories made and I’m thankful of all the opportunities, but now it’s time to focus on other things and grow as an artist and brand. The future is full of possibilities and I charge ahead with so much optimism and positive vibes. It’s a matter of time before Rudeboy Major becomes a force to be reckoned with in the local music space. Watch out for us and all the new artists and collaborations we will unleash in the not- so-distant future.”
Cassper Nyovest has yet to release a statement about Gemini Major leaving. He might be wishing him the best but the loss of this creative and talented producer is a big one.
