GALAXIID is Nina Kraviz’s new ambient & psychedelic label
Nina Kraviz is doing something experimental with GALAXIID. She will be putting out ambient and psychedelic sounds.
She will be releasing music from the Icelandic artist, Biogen and Species of Fishes, a much loved Russian electronic act on the new GALAXIID record label. This new label will run as a sub-label of Nina Kraviz’ other imprint known as “трип”. Biogen will also put together a compilation of obscurities on GALAXIID will release another album on the main label,трип.
It will run as a sub label of трип and it is a way for her to share her own listening musical taste. She plans to open up an experimental, ambient, and psychedelic world for those who previously may not have known it exists.
GALAXIID will have a strong connection to art through its visual identity just like her main label. All of the album cover artworks will be created by psychedelic artists.
It has also been featured on Factmag’s “best labels of 2016” list. GALAXIID will also be releasing books and hosting events. The books will also follow in this ambient, psychedelic theme.
She hasn’t yet announced when the released dates for all of this new exciting music. Music featuring the fascinating psychedelic sounds from Russia and Japan in seventies is on the schedule too.
Kraviz hasn’t announced release dates for any of the GALAXIID releases, but records featuring Russian psychedelic music from the ’70s and from Japan is also planned.
The first event hosted by the new label will take place at Printworks in London on the 25th of March 2017. The event will include a lineup of Bjarki, 808 State, Dopplereffekt, Aleksi Perala, Luke Vibert, PTU, and of course Kraviz herself.
