Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival 2017 presents Fak’ugesi Beats
Fak’ugesi African Digital Innovation Festival 2017 will be held at the Tshimologong Innovation Precinct between the 6th and 16th of September.
They have just revealed their vast 10-day program which boats a new curatorial partnership with WeHeartBeat titled Fuk’ugesi Beats.
Fuk’ugesi Beats focuses on the juncture of music production, performance and technology through workshops, panel talks and culminates with the ‘Fak’ugesi Beats Bloc Party,’ which takes place on the 16th of September.
The Bloc Party will boast interactive arts and projections as well as an enthralling line-up of both local and international power houses.
The live acts include trap-jazz trailblazer Masego, Soulection founder Joe Kay, Stonesthrow beatmaker MNDSGN, European producers Melodiesinthefonie and Evil Needle, Brotain’s Hannah Faith as well as local luminaries Petite Noirm Nonku Phiri and Zaki Ibrahim.
Cultural melting pot of gold
This digital showcase is one of a kind on the African continent and aims to highlight the importance of the cross-over between culture, creativity and technology in Africa.
The festival’s primary focus lies on the continent’s novel cultures, entrepreneurs within the digital realm and unearthing some of Africa’s brightest diamonds in the rough.
The 10 day spectacle includes a myriad of workshops, showcases, conferences and collaborative works as attendees band together from all over the SADC region, and surely beyond.
The Fak’ugesi Beat Lab is a week long journey delving into the world of music, tech and film where new artists will be ready to showcase their original works.
