Facebook Messenger adds Apple Music Bot for full song streaming
Stream full songs as Facebook Messenger adds Apple Music Bot to its resume.
Facebook has now joined forces with Apple Music to give its users streaming capabilities via messenger.
Before this partnership commenced, users were able to build collaborative Spotify playlists within Messenger group chats.
Facebook’s digital AI assistant ‘M’ would also recommend songs via Spotify- based on the content of your conversations… I guess we can’t feel creeped out by this since our whole digital footprint is used to suggest things to us.
Yet the streaming of full songs was not viable, until now!
Of course, you can only stream songs from Messenger if you are an Apple Music subscriber.
It’s a brilliant partnership seeing two of the biggest companies join forces to marry social media and music, our two most loved past-times.
The Apple of Facebook’s eye
Okay so even though you can’t stream full songs without a subscription to Apple Music, they are generous enough to give you a 30-second stream and share of a snippet.
How it works:
In a one-on-one or group chat, you access Apple music by clicking the “+” sign (on your mobile phone), which navigates you over to the Apple Music extension.
You can also make friends with an Apple Music bot, which can be found as a new contact on your friends list. This can be done on your phone or desktop.
Here comes the fun: You can send an emoji to the bot, which will prompt it to send you a playlist suggestion based on the nature of the emoji.
For example, sending a fire emoji will garner you a playlist like “It’s Lit!”
I guess they’d have to know who you are as a person because to a reggae fan, a fire emoji might translate to “Let’s light a spliff.”
But that’s what they do!
Now you will never need to leave social media as Facebook Messenger adds Apple Music Bot for full song streaming.
