Festival with on site cannabis dispensary
The Enchanted Forest Gathering is the second American festival to have a cannabis dispensary. The Enchanted festival takes place in Northern California and the organisers pride themselves on having a conscious living atmosphere and selective electronic music line-ups.
The cannabis dispensary at this event is intended for the medical-marijuana users. This attraction could potentially make the festival a tourist attraction. Another characteristic of the event is that they have a no alcohol policy.
Their doctrine is made of pure hippie stock…
“While alcohol may not be present, EFG hosts no less of a party atmosphere with an emphasis on conscious movement and dance, as a return to our bodies and an alternative to alcohol. The cannabis dispensary will be solar powered and managed by Emerald Pharms that… “specializes in regional heirloom genetics and has an extensive selection of high quality, lab-tested CBD-rich and THC products, including edibles, topicals, tinctures, sublingual sprays, gel caps, and strain-specific vape oil cartridges, as well as flower, seeds, and clones.”
With the focus on cannabis as medicine instead of something simply recreational, the festival sets the tone for an original experience.
South Africa next?
If we could have an event such as this successfully take off in Cape Town, all the stoners in the Mother City will surely rejoice.
Legalising cannabis at least to the degree of it being medically legal could open up a whole new way of being social in the South African music scene.
Specifically by keeping alcohol off limits it creates an environment unencumbered by drunken mess. Just picture it, three days of consciousness, carefree vibes, and endless philosophical conversation. You could hydrate with cold pressed juices and satisfy your munchies with gourmet food truck delights.
The Enchanted festival also promises “some of the best products Northern California has to offer”.
While this wonderful kind of festival is a reality for Californians and any ‘out of towners’ who are lucky to attend, we can only dream at this stage…
