Emtee manager threatens to pull plug on gig
Things got a little crazy and not in a fun way, when the manager of rapper, Emtee, threatened that the hip hop artist wouldn’t perform. He was on the line up of an event that took place at the Mavuso Trade Centre in Swaziland.
His manager was reportedly not having the performance slots rescheduled and warned that the rapper would not perform because of it. The program for the event was running behind schedule so Emtee’s performance was pushed back.
When the manager got irate and loudly made threats to pull Emtee from performing the crowd allegedly heard this from the other side of the stage and some of them told the rapper to “hamba”. Sure, it sucks that the event program ran behind schedule but throwing a tantrum when things don’t go your away doesn’t even look cute on a world famous pop star.
The show must go on
Other fans who had been waiting to see Emtee perform however, were not interested in anyone cancelling his performance. DJ Tendaness, a local Swaziland DJ was set to play before the rapper’s performance. However, some angry people in the crowd threw bottles at him and he was forced to stop playing.
For a moment after that the stage was empty and then finally Emtee made an appearance along with his DJ. Sandy, his manager had this to say after all was said and done…
“The fans and the craft are bigger than Emtee. We understand that the event was behind time but we were told to get Emtee ready because he was performing after Heavy K. Look, someone gave Emtee the mic, he was in the car and one of the organisers came to us told him to get ready because he was next. We understand being behind time, we respect all organisers and especially our fans and the craft, so do you honestly think we would have come all the way here to cause mayhem?”
Originally, the rapper was set to perform at two am. Perhaps staying up late made both the manager and artist a little grumpy especially after being told to wait even longer.
