EDM zombies parody The Walking Deaf
The EDM zombies parody the Walking Deaf was made by the ‘My Music Is Electronic’ YouTube page that has 162 subscribers and a total of 60,436 views on all of their videos.
A browse through the channel showcases a few parody and satirical videos aimed at highlighting issues facing the electronic dance music scene. They also seem to have it out for what they call ‘EDM zombies’. It would seem that they are joining in the EDM war and the now fashionable nose-up-turn against the pop dance music world.
The EDM zombies parody plays out like a trailer for the popular ‘The Walking Dead’ series and compares the hoards of fans that go out to EDM festivals to zombies.
The creators of the video feature cut out faces of Sven Vath, Seth Troxler, Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, Miss Kittin, Monika Kruse, Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, and Steve Aoki who gets shot in the head since he forms part of the EDM zombies crew. Their faces are pasted onto the characters within an episode of the actual ‘The Walking Dead’ series.
The cool non EDM DJs devise a plan to rid the world of EDM zombies and turn up Martin Garrix’s “Animals”—the Deadmau5 “Old McDonald” version. The track works, and the crowd of non-thinking brain dead EDM zombies follow them in their cars as they lead the poor suckers to what is most likely a final fate.
Seth Troxler’s character complains about hating the song and he is reminded to remain strong as there is a mission to fulfil.
The zombies follow behind and some of them are holding up colourful helium balloons, including a sign that says “drop the bass” and one that says “cake me”.
The parody ends with Steve Aoki getting half his face shot off with the tagline “coming soon to a festival near you”.
