Eclectic Method made a track solely using Star Wars sound effects
Eclectic Method has made a full-blown Star Wars themed track.
Started by Jonny Wilson, Geoff Gamlen and Ian Edgar in 2001 they specialise in using sound effects from movies and songs to create music along with visual flare.
Eclectic’s audio-visual style developed into a live performance extravaganza that featured video turntables- mixing videos, often acapellas, as parts of their audio mash-ups.
Jonny Wilson is the last remaining ‘method’ and his latest work takes 100% inspiration from one of the most loved film series, Star Wars.
The Star Wars theme song is no stranger to remixes, but this track takes it to a whole new level as every single sound used therein is a sound effect used in the films.
Previously he has remixed songs based on movies like The Element and Ghost in the Shell.
Star wap-wap-Waaars
The track features everything Star Wars you can think of including grunts, punches, the obvious lightsaber swooshes, lazer bullets and the beloved robot bleeps and bloops.
It’s got a dub/trap/break-beat feel to it. Who knows you might here it at a rave soon!
The accompanying video is just as hectically eclectic as the track, showing clips from the movies that match up to the sound used, sometimes even using 2 ‘windows.’
It’s a very fun and new way to appreciate the films that have brought us all so much joy over the years.
Eclectic Method shows brilliant skill with regards to matching up the sound with the visuals, here is the video.
