Take it all in
Earthdance 2016 Cape Town is not JUST a trance party. There’s way more going on than that. It’s a global gathering for Peace which includes a Prayer for Peace at 2AM where everybody gathers for a moment to contemplate and pray for peace on Earth.
There’s also the Peace Tent (workshops etc) for those looking for more spiritual fulfilment over the weekend or simply a quiet(er) place to chill, a Psychedelic art gallery and a tech/deep house music floor for some slower, groovier beats.
But we know that many will be there for the main stage psytrance dancefloor to dance, dance, dance and that’s cool too.
What happens at a trance party stays at a trance party
The only thing you should take back with you from a trance party is the good vibes and new friendships you’ve made.
For the rest, just remember trance parties are NOT life. They are [effing awesome] parties and whilst they do give us a glimpse into how awesome people can be when they’re away from the pressures of modern day life, return home invigorated and appreciative of the experience you’ve just had. Never go home feeling guilty or like you don’t deserve to have THAT much fun. You Do! We all do!
Arrive Alive
Start your party at the party and end your party at the party. Getting wasted on the way to the party is a big no-no. So is leaving the party wasted unless you have a clearly designated driver. Someone in your crew MUST take responsibility for driving the gang home safely.
Arrive prepared
Some key things to bring to make your party experience a good one include;
Food & beverage (no glass bottles) – Yes there are stalls but Earthdance 2016 Cape Town is also a full camping experience so having some snacks and drinks around the campsite is a vibe.
Tent and bedding – Sleep in your car if you must but the cars are parked separately to all the cool camping areas so a dome tent and bedding is definitely recommended for the full social experience.
Warm clothes – The weather looks awesome for Earthdance 2016 Cape Town this weekend but it’s still spring time. The nights WILL be chilly. Bring lots of layers; they’re easy to add on or peel off depending on the weather.
Sun-block – it’s the African sun kids. Even if there’s a cool breeze during the day, if the sun is out you will burn.
Be Nice
It is inevitable that at big events such as Earthdance 2016 Cape Town there will be a few people who have lousy experiences.
The simplest way to avoid this being you is to leave your attitude at the gate and arrive with the intention of being nice… to everybody! That includes the cleaning staff at the toilets, the security, the bar staff, the people camping next to you and very, very importantly – the people you dance next to.
Be nice and you will have a nice time. It really is that simple.
Respect yourself and respect others.
