Driemanskap Hlala Nam album finally released
Stream/Buy the highly anticipated the Driemanskap Hlala Nam album today.
After years of teasing fans, the celebrated South African Hip Hop outfit Driemanskap have FINALLY released their sophomore album.
Titled Hlala Nam, the 20-track offering features a talent pool including YoungstaCPT, King Kosh, Haem-O and several others and was released on Friday, 1 November.
Driemanskap is a four-man Cape Town crew consisting of Redondo, Ma-B, Dla and El Nino who have maintained their raw street-centric sound and lyricism on the new album.
Tracks like “Uhambo,” “Things We Do For Love” and “Champion” have a trap production flavor, showcasing the group’s willingness to experiment with other sounds.
2012 saw the release of “Izulu Lelan,” the first original single off Hlala Nam, which was followed by the release of “We Are Not the Same” in 2014, featuring the rapper iFani. It was at that time that the album was shelved when the group split from then-label Pioneer Unit.
In 2015 Driemanskap signed a deal with Native Rhythms and released the journey of a Soldier EP.
Driemanskap Hlala Nam
Rather than trying to recreate their cult classic from 2009, Igqabhukil’ Inyongo, Driemanskap opted to experiment with different sounds and styles.
For instance, in the song “Ndakondla,” the crew trades bars for melodies in what’s bound to become a wedding-style anthem.
Stream/Buy the album today, but don’t take my word for it; Here are some shout-outs from SA celebs:
