Get your DJing Diploma at Megatrend private university in Serbia
Go to university to get your DJing Diploma!
It sounds strange, doesn’t it?
At what point has DJing entered the realm of higher education like University, and how will that affect the industry?
For the most part, getting a Diploma for any University course gives your career and starting income a serious boost- that piece of paper is a giant key to the working world.
Though for art forms like DJing, it’s kind of been like an anti-establishment composer of the club land. I guess now that DJs are firmly in the mainstream and out in the open, meaning that tertiary education institutes will jump on that band wagon and take your money!
Welcome to Megatrend University, located in Belgrade, Serbia; which by Wikipedia digging has revealed the University “is said to have a relatively low reputation in the eyes of the Serbian public due to its allegedly dubious programmes and low standards.”
A DJ with a degree!
Anyways, they are offering a 4-year academic studying of DJing. Upon clicking into their Faculty of Culture and Media, a promotion pops up that says, “Be the first DJ with a Diploma in the world.”
The course curriculum as well as class set up is a mystery for now, leaving us to speculate… Will there be DJing theory which deals with the business side of DJing like promotion, booking negotiations and business etiquette?
Will there be the practical side where DJs learn actual skills on equipment, eventually in their final year having them take turns in being resident DJ at a dingy club to gain experience in a club setting?
Does your diploma include a spot on a festival bill?
There are many DJ courses offered that will give you the skills without breaking your bank over 4 years…
