DJ Tira unfazed by Amabhinca death threats
DJ Tira is unfazed, even though he’s been bombarded with threats.
This seems to be a case where fans are starting beef among artists who have no beef.
Tira posted in Zulu on Facebook: “Waze wangiphoxa uMroza umkhaya wami kodwa wena uyazi wenzani. Siyakuthanda siyi-Durban’s Finest!”
“Okuhle kodwa kwingoma yakho entsha. Abangaziyo bayazi ukuthi ngiyawuthanda umaskandi.”
This didn’t sit well with Mroza’s fans, who call themselves Amabhinca, who flooded his page with insults and threats.
They accused Tira of undermining the Maskandi genre and of being jealous of Mroza’s success, seeing as his Sobulala uVan Damme was voted the most popular song in 2016, beating Tira and Sox’s Umsindo.
They have warned Tira that best he stay away from music festivals where there will be maskandi artists. Some allegedly also sent him death threats.

These outbursts from Amabhinca seem to be tad dramatic, even though Maskandi music festivals are known to have shootings.
“I cannot live in fear of Amabhinca. Who have I wronged? Why are they even swearing at me?” asked Tira.
Tira maintains his innocence, claiming he is a huge fan of Maskandi. He’s featured with Zimbabwean artist, Oliver Mtukudzi in a Shabalala Rhythm track, Please Call Me.
He is even a fan of Mroza, making these threats even more random.
Even Mroza doesn’t know where the beef is coming from, telling eNCA that he doesn’t even know Tira.
“I can’t fight with someone I do not know. I don’t know that Tira and I’ve not sent anyone to write any Facebook threats,” said Mroza.
People should stop focussing on creating beef between artists, and rather focus on the MUSIC and the happiness that creates. The age-old genre war is so unproductive and dumb.
DJ Tira is unfazed by Amabhinca death threats, seeing as they are just keyboard warrior’s.
