And, the fact of the matter is that if you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to make it happen- this isn’t a cliché, this is life.
This is the ethos that landed talented busker Mduduzee Ncube time with Tira and a gig from Dogg DBN.
The aspiring musician stood outside Tira’s home, performing and singing his heart out until the famed DJ came out and acknowledged his presence.
Tira could have easily been annoyed, chased him away or even call security, but upon hearing the man’s undeniable talent he invited Mdu inside.
A twist of fate
It so happened to be that Mampintsha’s manager Dogg DBN was also at the Afrotainment label boss’s house and caught a video of Mdu introducing himself and playing a piece of his music enveloped in captivating vocals.
“The name is Mdu, surname Ncube. I am here because of mercy. I just came here and started singing in the street outside the house. I sang until he came out and opened for me,” he said.
Mdu impressed them so much that Tira gave him some time to create a collaboration and Dogg DBN secured Mdu for one of his events. Tira also sent Mdu for a makeover in preparation for the gig today.
It’s inspiring to see such big names in the music industry make an effort when they could have easily shut the door in his face and it’s inspiring to see a musician’s perseverance towards his dream. Thanks to DJ Tira and Dogg DBN, Mdu could be the next big thing; all the best with your gig.
