DJ Tira ancestors gave him strength to fight off robber
According to his tweet it was the DJ Tira ancestors that gave him the power to fight off a robber who tried to take his phone. He made it clear that he didn’t simply beat someone up or get into a fight for no reason.
“I called on the ancestors and they gave me the power to fight. I didn’t beat up anyone on purpose, I was protecting myself!” Tweeted DJ Tira.
He claims it was the DJ Tira ancestors working through him to help defend himself. It can be comforting to believe in something that makes you feel safe and protected in that way.
For this artist, the DJ Tira ancestors are just that. According to The Juice, DJ Tira was attacked while walking to the parking lot after he got off stage while at a gig in Newtown, Joburg.
He was on the phone while the robber attempted to grab it. The argument could be made for letting the phone go as it’s just a phone and can be replaced. But DJ Tira was not having it because his phone is just that important to him…
“My phone is like my life and I had to fight back,” said Tira to the Daily Sun.
The phone contains documents that are important to the artist and his career. To have lost all of that would have been too much for the DJ.
Therefore, it was not the device he was fighting to hold on to, but the information stored on it that was of more value to him.
It’s a shame that our artists are getting attacked while at events. The common occurrence of robbery and petty crime makes everyone feel a lot less safe and detracts from the quality of life in SA. The DJ Tira ancestors helped him feel stronger than he ever has in life.
