DJ Switch, Ghana’s youngest DJ wants a Range Rover for her birthday
DJ Switch wants a birthday presents she won’t be able to use herself.
Think about what birthday presents you wished for as a 10-year-old. Dolls and action figures, board games and Hungry Hippo; or roller blades and bicycles.
And sure, today’s kids might wish for gifts in the technological sphere, but there are still limits despite the fast pace at which we’re growing up.
But in the celebrity world all things are possible, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ghana’s youngest DJ, 10-year-old DJ Switch, wants a Range Rover for her birthday.
She revealed her birthday wish after dazzling the audience with her performance at the fifth All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in Ghana.
Eye on the prize
Upon answering a question from one of the MCs for the night, Anita Erskine, on what present she desires for her upcoming birthday on 12 December, the young DJ boldly replied, “I want a Range Rover.”
Her request had the audience giggling with surprise- I mean, she can’t drive for a good few years, it’s an adorable as well as overboard request.
Switch was born Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh and she burst onto the scene when she won TVs Talented Kidz reality show last year when she was 9.
In June 2018, Erica won Ghana’s annual DJ award, becoming the youngest DJ to do so.
Three months later she took to New York to open the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s annual Goalkeeper’s event, warming up for French President Emmanuel Macron.
