DJ Black Coffee is in high demand these days and we don’t just mean for DJ gigs both here and all over the globe. When you reach the level of status that he has there are bound to be many, many opportunities that present themselves and many, many brands that will jump to procure his services. But DJ Black Coffee is a classy guy and most of what he does has a definite stamp of quality on it.
Even DJ Black Coffee’s new GongBox, whilst still a bit of a mystery looks promising, if the classy logo is anything to go by. In fact he has had a really good run of quality projects from his Africa Rising Concerts and DVD, to his performance at Central Park in NYC, his gigs in Ibiza where he got to meet P Diddy and his recently announced and hugely anticipated ‘A Night with Black Coffee’ National Tour, the man is on fire for sure.
He is also proactive in giving back via his Black Coffee Foundation which saw him recently award a full scholarship to a physically disabled person at the SAE Institute of Music in Cape Town via Bridges for Music.
In fact his success rate is so good we can even forgive him that time he ran with that awful Frisco coffee campaign.
DJ Black Coffee and his Human Orchestra
This latest project by DJ Black Coffee and whisky brand, Ballantine’s is an interesting one. Funny enough DJ Black Coffee doesn’t even drink, nonetheless it does not detract from this awesome video.
Watch DJ Black Coffee lead a 40-strong group of African vocalists to create a stunning voice-only recreation of his most famous electronic track, ‘Rock My World.’
The film opens with DJ Black Coffee’s own back-story and beliefs around life, music and creation, before we see him assemble a group of vocalists from across Africa. The climax of the film is an experiment which defines Black Coffee’s ambition as an artist; an impressive feat to deconstruct one of his most famous electronic music productions, ‘Rock My World’, recreating it using only the vocal abilities of his 40 strong choir.
This video is part of a series of of films by Scotch whisky brand, Ballantine’s. Each film features unique individuals who represent Ballantine’s global mantra, ‘Stay True, Leave an Impression’.
