DJ Arch Jnr SA Got Talent Winner
DJ Arch Jnr SA Got Talent Winner!
That’s a headline we would not have expected. When the judges of the SA’s Got Talent Show gave the 3 year old DJ the final golden ticket to the finals, we’re not sure if even they thought he’d actually win the talent contest.
To get the final golden ticket young DJ Arch Jnr pretty much did one mix and fiddled around with the FX, whilst looking slightly bewildered but also kinda used to the attention his little routine has been getting.
DJ Arch Jnr SA Got Talent Audition
As a novelty and in the spirit of goodwill that the SA’s Got Talent show seems to encourage, it was really nice for the judges, which included 5FM’s DJ Fresh, to send him into the finals.
But has this gesture of goodwill backfired on them? Somehow it may not have been in the script for today’s headline to be – DJ Arch Jnr SA Got Talent Winner!
It’s a weird and wonderful world we live in. Online there are as many people who are supportive and amazed by his win and think he is simply adorable – and let’s face it, DJ Arch Jnr is adorable – as there are people who think it’s a joke.
Clearly the TV watching masses loved him though, since he was voted the winner.
But does this not diminish the validity of the show? We’re sure many will say, ‘well it IS a talent show,’ what’d we expect?
But spare a thought for some of the artists who have been fine tuning and nurturing their talent for years… and quite honestly if one had to make a direct comparison are probably more talented than young DJ Arch Junior is right now.
Anyway the DJ Arch Jnr SA Got Talent result has left us at IDM Mag with mixed feelings…
We think he is incredibly cute and adorable and love that he’s getting some kudos… but we also can’t help but see the irony in it all.
What are your thoughts on the DJ Arch Jnr SA Got Talent news?
Worthy winner or pure gimmick?
This DJ Arch Jnr SA Got Talent thingy has us confused… have a look at the image below taken from his winning performance. The controller has no audio out cables. Do you think they had it wired up some other way? And if so, how?
It seems our photo at least got the producers of SA’s Got Talent and DJ Arch JNR’s representative to respond. We’re sure audio engineers may debate the legitimacy of their audio routing explanation, but it really doesn’t matter. The most important thing is they took the time to offer an explanation.
You can decide for yourself…
DJ Arch Jnr Official reply…
“Morning Family :). I was suppose to drop you a cool mix this morning but I think we must take this opportunity to educate our friends :). So I am sure you have came across picture saying “no audio out cables, so the mix was fake” :), was my mix that good that people thought it was fake?
“Normally when you use a computer and a controller you have 2 options when it comes to audio out, it is either you go with the computers audio out or the controllers audio out. Usually I use the controllers audio out but it gave us a buzzing sound so we had to go with the computers audio out, makes no difference really. So if you come across such posts you can just simply reply with the pictures below :). #TeamDjArchJnr #Each1Teach1”
SA’s Got Talent Official Statement
“The photo that has been making the rounds on social media does not show the full technical setup of DJ Arch’s performance which took place at Soweto Theatre on the 8th of November 2015 in the finale of SA’s Got Talent. The audio cables were connected via the laptop and not the controller.
“There were two laptops on the stage which DJ Arch Jnr. was consistently watching. The one laptop has the DJ software on it, which plays the songs and the other laptop has a countdown system which cues DJ Arch Jnr. The controller in front of him has a black USB cable connected to the laptop which is feeding into it.”
