Question: If South Africa is a capital of House music in the world how come our DJs/producers are not even making it on the lists of the most paid producers/DJs?
EarOnDaGround: “The answer to this question will take a while till we can answer it to its full potential, but independently as a label we have taken the initiative to contribute to the upbringing and growth of producers and DJs in South Africa through our radio show. This revolution starts with us, as we create a platform for up and rising producers/DJs. The main goal for these sessions is to promote upcoming producers, DJs and record labels in House music. As we have doubled our listenership in only a week, we would like this to be more like a listening session to everyone willing to discover new music and artists.
What we would like to achieve out of this as a label is to gain brand recognition as a company and as for the DJs, producers and labels, atleast have them get recognised for their hard work and get some for of recognition through corporate deals.
We have structured the show in a manner that it accommodates everyone, whereas 1st Saturday: Solo Mix by Chriss DeVynal playing songs that have been submitted, 2nd Saturday: The Hit List which is a chart show for all producers, 3rd Saturday we feature DJ mixes 30 min each and they must play 100% S.A House, 4th Saturday we feature a producer, label or album at 30min each (possibility of interviews).”
