Culoe De Song has done a remix of a Maya Jane Coles track for Ballantines Whisky.

Towards the end of last year Maya Jane Coles came to South Africa on a True Music tour. She was asked to select a few artists to create the remix EP ‘True Music’.

When True Music proposed the tour and the coinciding project, Maya Jane Coles got onboard since their objective matches her approach to authentic and fresh music.

Culoe de Song’s remix of Maya Jane Coles has a distinct South African flair. One would not expect any less from the likes of Culoe.

Maya Jane Coles is known for being on the lookout for the next big sound or the next idea. This works well with the True Music ideals. True Music aims to uncover sounds from around the globe, hitting South Africa, Russia and Spain in the process.

Maya Jane Coles acted as a curator, picking out some superb international talent to remix her own material.

Culoe de Song was one of those artists that made her list. The ‘True Music’ EP is the groove worthy result. It’s a sample of what can happen when innovation is indulged within dance music culture.

It is a display of how the world of dance music is growing in the way that connects us all.

The visuals for this work were shot in the energetic city of Joburg. The African flair for this remix filters through in every aspect and it is thrilling.
