CTEMF 2016 Line-up adds Dope Saint Jude & Angel-Ho
CTEMF 2016 is just around the corner and this ground breaking festival continues to raise the bar each year, musically speaking. And by adding the local talents of Dope Saint Jude & Angel –Ho to the line up they have managed to get something very right.
The performance of Dope Saint Jude & Angel-Ho will be the first time these two trail blazers will have the opportunity to perform at major South African festival.
Dope Saint Jude is a local Cape Town rapper from the Cape Flats. Her lyricism centres round topics of class, race, feminism, gender neutrality, and body politics. She is refreshing and original in a manner that is ease filled and natural. Over the last few months she has broken into the international scene with her music video ‘Keep In Touch’ featuring Angel-Ho. It was featured on major American based, Afropunk.
Angel-Ho is a fine arts graduate from UCT who is also a producer and rapper. Angel-Ho focuses on creating a safe space for trans and queer people of colour.
Angel-Ho is also co-founder of NON Records – a label and collective which aims to “cuts across genre and geography to unite politically and sonically forward-thinking musicians in an ongoing exploration of Pan-African identity in the twenty-first century”.
