Crowdfunded project Vinylised to help small labels press vinyl
A new crowdfunded project known as Vinylised wants to make it easier for smaller, independent labels to press vinyl. Plastician has already made use of the Vinylised crowdfunding service.
As a new label starting out, budget restraints can hold you back from doing the bigger league label things such as publishing CDs and pressing albums into vinyl. Vinylised is aiming to bridge that gap and make this specialised service more widely available for the lesser known guys with not even cash to fuel their dreams.
How it works
How it works is that if you have a small independent label then you can add your record label to the site’s page. If your pre-orders get enough support from backers then Vinylised will take it all on from there. They will handle the releases manufacturing, mastering, pressing, and everything else that comes with producing the product. What is great is that you won’t have to find a separate distributor too.
Vinylised could help you see your work pressed into vinyl before the year is over.
As a record label this is what you need to know if you want to get involved.
You promote the pre-order. There is no upfront investment; you add your catalogue to Vinylised for free. They collect the pre-orders to reach a target. And the best part is that you get to set your minimum run.
They press the vinyl. They are committed to mastering and press is only made once the target is met so there is no risk. They will handle all of the manufacturing for you.
They handle the completion of the deal. Once the records are pressed and delivered to them, they pack and ship all the pre-orders, providing a full end-to-end service which means you won’t even need a distributor.
You get the money. All financials are transparent and agreed up front. They pay out the profit and take a small fee for their service.
