Call it a Dutch and Yankee delight. Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz are the new high energy DJ-ing duo known as New World Punx or NWP if you will. It started out as a few fun and on the sot DJ set set between buddies then morphed into the power DJ duo they have taken on to become.
The name of course is inspired by Ferry Corsten’s huge anthem titled ‘Punk’ and from Markus Schulz big hit titled ‘The New World’. The sound they are going for and ultimately delivering as this new and more aggressive two man army is harder, yet still melodic and euphoric trance that allows dancers and listeners alike to soar.
Whether they are performing side byside on tour as NWP or up in the studio releasing music under their new and cool moniker, they are delivering beastly prog trance. Their act as NWP puts out a sound that is more dynamic and tighter than the longer progressive sets they have become known for.
The NWP sets are vigorous and perfectly marry Corsten’s and Schulz’s individual sounds. The result is a perfect sonic storm that caters to the short attention spans of today’s tech-savvy music consumers.
They first realized their duo chemistry after they played a back to back set at none other than a Godskitchen event of course, in Birmingham during March last year. Since then they have evolved into a great tag team with sets at Tao Beach in Las Vegas, the Electric Daisy Carnival, and at the Echostage in Washington.
Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz also do wonderful things with prog trance and their new combined sound in the studio. Together they have already released dancefloor killers such as “Stella” and “Loops & Tings” and that managed to hit the number one spot on Beatport’s “Top 100 Trance” chart and was also voted “best track” by listeners during the live radio broadcast celebrating “Corsten’s Countdown” 250th episode.
