Radio Slave will be blowing you away at TOY TOY on the 24th of November.
TOYTOY is a brand that honours the weird and wonderful world of underground electronic music, and has been doing so since the early 2000’s when they actually curated Who Needs Sleep Tonight parties.
In 2008, after building more partnerships, they set out to create the unique, vibey and banging parties known today as TOYTOY, as they continued to push boundaries with regards to line up, production and décor.
They soon started hosting weekly events with the help of resident DJs like Sound Sensible and Andi Dill, and eventually found their home at And in Joburg.
Their events are revered among electronic music fans, and really offer something special.
And if we’re talking special, who else to mention other than Radio Slave.
Crave the Radio Slave
No matter the genre of music you choose, at some point you ‘busted a move’ and ‘got down’ to Matt Edwards aka Radio Slave, co-founder of Rekids in the UK.
Matt is a producer of high quality, as well as variety, releasing under guises like Quiet Village, Sea Devils, REKID and The Machine.
His most iconic piece of work is probably his masterful and cheeky remix of Kylie Minogue’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head.
Currently he holds residencies at Berlin’s Panorama Bar and Paris’ Rex Club where he hosts the Rekid’s label nights.
