Football legend Christian Vieri is now a DJ
Christian Vieri is now striking the decks as a DJ.
Vieri is part of a class of footballers who made a name for themselves in the 90’s era of the game and was once even the most expensive football star after completing a 32 million euro move from Lazio to Inter Milan.
Putting his money where his, eh, boot is, Vieri is a goal-scorer of note who still holds the record for most goals for Italy, scoring 23 goals in 49 appearances for the national team.
He also scored 9 goals for his country during the World Cup, jointly holding the record with Paolo Rossi and Roberto Baggio.
But being football, there comes a time when you step on the pitch for the last time. Vieri retired in 2009 after a legendary run and moved to Miami.
Bobo DJ
In Miami he starred in the Italian movie Picasso’s Face, launched a charity beach football tournament and started two fashion labels but music called and at 45-years-old he answered.
Vieri was inspired to try his hand at the decks after seeing DJ Andrea Olivia in Ibiza and has been practising ever since.
He is now playing at top clubs in Italy with his Bobo Project, a name derived from his childhood nickname.
He plays house music, but his set is anything but ordinary.
“I have a singer, she’s called Lara Caprotti. And then I have Stefano Serafini playing trumpet. The trumpet sounds amazing live in a club,” he said.
Regarding the music, he said:
“I like remixing Barry White and ABBA songs. I like to include a bit of 70s music and a bit of what’s popular now.”
So, catch Christian Vieri AKA Bobo at a club in Italy, or maybe a club near you.
