Check out the new Okmalumkoolkat Mlazi Milano album single, Gqi
The new Okmalumkoolkat Mlazi Milano album is available for pre-order on iTunes.
If you are a fan you have probably been bumping it to his ‘Ntwana Yam’ track. Now his latest single ‘Gqi’ is ready to give you good vibes this summer.
The Okmalumkoolkat Mlazi Milano album is one that has been a long time coming. He set out to “reinvent the music game” with international sounds combined with fresh beats. When translated, Gqi means “to appear” and the track is meant to serve as an example of the musical complexity and prowess of Okmalumkoolkat.
He is also known by the names All Black Kat, Future Mfana, Smart Mompara, Bhut’yang’chaza, Ikati Elimnyam, DJ Zharp Zharp, and The Sjambok Ambu.
He is one half of the Dirty Paraffin duo that puts out South African electronic rap tunes. Okmalumkoolkat won the best mixtape award at the South African Hip Hop awards in 2015.
Gqi is something different
The new single ‘Gqi’ is the underground Gqom genre that is a combination of local kasi music and house. The track is a banner for South African flavour and flare.
Without following the typical flow, the track moves into trap. This is the kind of thing that no one has done yet. Get into ‘Gqi’ and experience the matchless kick drums, tribalism and Durban sound, which is where he is from.
You can pre-order the Okmalumkoolkat Mlazi Milano album on iTunes. He also says that if you do there is a special little surprise for you.
The album is expected to be a chart topper with every track uniquely produced for all new age music lovers. The album will be released on Electromode and was composed by Lionel Bonga Msabala, Andile Mphathi Gumede (Rudeboyz) – Sheer Publishing.
The Okmalumkoolkat Mlazi Milano album was written and performed by Simiso Zwane, Andile Raymond Siyangaphi and Sifiso Bright Dlamini – SAMRO.
