Celebrate ProKid at the DANKIE SAN concert, a hip hop tribute
ProKid gave us Dankie San, now we will thank him.
This weekend, on the 26th of August, the South African hip hop community will come together to honour and celebrate the late Linda ‘Pro’ Mkhize.
The event, aptly called DANKIE SAN, will be held at Zone 6 in Diepkloof, Soweto, and will featuring SA’s best purveyors of hip hop, including:
AKA, HHP, Kwesta, Cassper Nyovest, K.O., Gigi LaMayne, Reason, Skwatta Kamp, Da Les, Stogie-T, Amunishn, L-Tido, Rouge, JR, Nadia Nakai, Jub Jub, Kid-X, Ma-E, Blaklez, Red Button, Yanga, Zubz, Ntukza, P Dot O, Nveigh, Solo and the BETR gang, Nothende, Max-Hoba and F-Eezy.
The DJ line-up includes Citi Lyts, DJ Fresh, Vigilante, Major League DJs, DJ Dimplez, DJ Capital, DJ Switch, P Kuttah, C-live, DJ 1D, DJ Milkshake, Ms Cosmo, P-Kuttah, DJ Mr X, DJ ZanD , DJ Rizz and DJ Zai Maya.

The event will be hosted by MC’s Moozlie, Lee Kasumba, Lootlove and Sandile GQ and will run from 1pm to 1am.
The country was rocked by Pro’s passing , leaving an entire community of artists broken, for his contribution to hip hop was so refreshingly new and unprecedented that the void will never be filled.
Not only an outstanding artist, he was a loving human being with an overflowing heart.
DANKIE SAN invites not only Pro’s fans, but fans of South African hip hop; for the two are intertwined.
Tickets are available from Computicket from R100 for general access and R250 for VIP. All proceeds from the concert will go into an education fund for PRO’s daughter Nonkanyezi.
ProKid may be gone, but we will never forget our Number 1 Soweto Boy.
