Cassper Nyovest to launch his own cell phone with AG Mobile
Cassper Nyovest, real name Refiloe Maele Phoolo will be launching his own cell phone in partnership with AG Mobile and MTN called AG#Hashtag.
The local rapper is determined to be more than just a musician by expanding his profile to that of an innovator and businessman.
AG Mobile also partnered with him for the ‘Fill Up The Dome’ concert that took place last year. If you are a Cassper Nyovest fan then you could soon be using a cell phone inspired by the rapper.
The cell phone known as the AG#Hashtag cell phone, sees the official media launch for the product is taking place today, 19 April 2015.
Cassper Nyovest’s hand in the production of the AG#Hashtag cell phone went into aspects of its specifications, development, and the design. Therefore it could be assumed that the AG#Hashtag cellphone might be Nyovest’s own perfect version of a phone.
“AG Mobile approached us last year just before we did Fill Up The Dome. The idea of creating a cellphone came up and we’ve been working on the design and everything else ever since.” Cassper told Destiny Connect.
The rapper was inspired to work with a South African company, sharing that he is dedicated to challenging the status quo and empowering South Africans in the process. He also shared that the commonality between himself and AG Mobile contributed to the company’s openness to creating AG#Hashtag around his brand.
“If it were any other cellphone company, would they make a cellphone around me? I don’t think so.”
He also shared his thoughts on branching out of music into other aspects of business…
“If you have the brain to dabble with anything else that will grow your brand, go with it,” advises Nyovest. “As long as you take yourself seriously as a brand. Stay true to who you are. If you want to make music and stay in studio, that’s cool too.”
