Canada is creating cannabis beer; cheers to that
Cheers to cannabis beer!
Canada welcomed cannabis into its nation eons ago while the world still tries to catch on, becoming the second nation to legalise the green for recreational use.
Its next step in its ‘marijuanavolution’ is to legalise edibles, hopefully by 2019, in other words blink and it will be legalised.
But why stop there? No high is the limit, so why not invent a beer made entirely out of cannabis?
Well fret not dear stoner; this beer will prevent drogies while making you high AF. In fact, this beer is more potent than edibles…
While there are beers infused with THC and CBD oils, a start-up company called Province Brands is kicking it up a few notches by making beer by brewing the stalks, stems, and ALL.
I’ll drink to that!
Naturally, brewing the parts of Mary-Jane “just tasted horrible,” said Doome Wendschuh, co-founder and CEO of Province Brands.
“They tasted like rotten broccoli.” But thanks to a little chemistry work, he hit the right combination is hops, water, yeast- and cannabis, resulting in a flavour that’s “dry, savoury, and less sweet than a typical beer flavour.”
The beer has around 6.5mg of THC and has the alcohol REMOVED, leaving you with only one high to deal with.
Another thing Wendschuh said is that “the beer hits you very quickly, which is not common for a marijuana edible.”
“If I could create an alternative to alcohol, that’s something that would change the world,” he said. “
With cannabis beer you can have your cake and drink it too!
