Get The Prodigy “Firestarter to #1!
A Facebook campaign has been started by fans of the legendary electronic group to get their 1997 hit track “Firestarter” to number one in honour of the late Keith Flint, front man of the group who dies last week.
The campaign reads:
“Rest in peace to the fire starter. Lets make sure the fire continues 🔥
We need to raise awareness of mental health issues and suicide. Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 and that needs to change!!
This is the best way to raise Keith’s profile and bring his plight to the forefront of pop culture and mainstream.
If you don’t want to spend any money then place the song on repeat in a streaming platform such as Spotify or Deezer then mute it and leave it on. This will also count towards the charts.”
Carry the flame
The band has since cancelled their upcoming tour dates, including Glastonbury 2019.
The latest tribute saw fellow 90’s electronic dynamo’s Faithless share a story of their time om the road with Keith Flint.
Posting on Facebook, Faithless wrote: “Devastated to hear the news of Keith’s passing. Faithless & The Prodigy have shared many of the same stages, & crew over the years, and toured together in SA back in the day.
Adding: “He also got back on stage & gave it after 100mph bike crash into a wall!! This man was a titan.”
Get Firestarter by The Prodigy to #1, RIP to the ultimate firestarter Keith Flint.
