BoomBoom the cringe worthy nose inhaler advert
BoomBoom is a really cringe worthy nose inhaler advert.
There’s a place in your nose, where the BoomBoom goes. BoomBoom for your nose,”
It is actually a music video created by Thick7 to promote something that appears to be a lot like poppers.
Just in case you’re wondering what poppers is, it’s a chemical class known as alkyl nitrites that is inhaled recreationally, particularly at clubs or parties, and popularly used before having sex.
These little bullet shaped things are meant to be little energy boosters for your senses via your nostrils. Their music video advert is of course corny in its attempt to harness all things cool and trendy with shots of swimming pool flamingos, solo cups, hula hoops, and girls in high waist tights.
The ad is clearly aimed at the ‘raver’ and the EDM party/festival regular and attempts to use relevance and humour to help create market appeal. There’s nothing like this lame jingle “There’s a place in your nose, where the BoomBoom goes. BoomBoom for your nose,” getting stuck on repeat in your head.
So if that happens to you after watching then it would seem that their advert worked. There is already a variety of legal over the counter ‘all natural’ stimulants such as this booster for your nose claims to be. And, if you were previously inclined to try any of the other stimulants and perhaps even poppers, then you would most likely try the BoomBoom too.
In January, they shared a promo video that they shot at an EDM festival, handing their inhalant sticks to random partygoers and filming their reactions.
The new ad is a well produced, feverish attempt in a marketing strategy that is seeking out the EDM audience by using vacuous tricks to sell to a group that is perceivably gullible.
Sadly the BoomBoom video is so ridiculous that it almost seems like a joke and not much like a professional advertisement for a brand.
