Initially debuting with a trip-hop aesthetic, Bonobo has since ventured into a more upbeat approach while experimenting with Jazz and World Music. He is a favourite mainstage performer at some of the world’s greatest music festivals and has worked with notable artists such as Erykah Badu, Ólafur Arnalds, and Jon Hopkins. He has also remixed tracks for artists like Michael Kiwanuka, Gorillaz, and George Fitzgerald.
Bonobo Fragments
Bonobo’s latest album, ‘Fragments,’ is his most emotionally intense and is considered his masterpiece. It features collaborations with Jamila Woods, Joji, Kadhja Bonet, Jordan Rakei, O’Flynn, and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson. The album’s creation was born out of fragments of ideas and experimentation and ultimately fused together in a burst of creativity fuelled by both collaboration and Green’s escape into the wild.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, Bonobo found inspiration in the great expanses of wild nature outside his adopted home of Los Angeles. This inspiration, combined with his dive into modular synthesis and collaboration with a wide array of artists, brought ‘Fragments’ into much sharper focus.
Bonobo’s work has amassed a cult following around the world, and in 2023, he will head to South Africa’s shores to play to an army of local fans at one of Cape Town’s top outdoor venues. Tickets for the show go on sale on December 9th, 2022, at 9 AM on Webtickets. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable live performance.
