<h4> International success calling
“Winning the SAMA felt unreal because we never really forced people to get our album and we were never on that whole heavy marketing tip so we can reach a level where people can nominate us for an award and we didn’t even know we were nominated… we were mostly thankful,” Mabogwane told Zalebs.
The duo believes in staying true to yourself while pushing your craft. Their journey has taken them on an inspirational ride since they started back in 2009.
Now, they are representing South Africa as one of our dance music scene’s most shining exports. People love their dance moves just as much as they love their sets. They are authentic and their sound is infectious.
They got the attention of Defected Worldwide, a UK record label famous for its dance music. What is exciting is that the Black Motion Ya Badimo album is being released by Sony to a global audience.
They reflect on the production of Black Motion Ya Badimo…
“Firstly, when we get in studio, we aren’t making music to create the next biggest hit or a song that’s popular so there is no pressure to do that. Whenever we criticize each other, it is only on things related to the song like the song’s levels or the song’s direction or what we think we should add or remove. At the end of the day, when we take a final decision, it will be taken together but when we create, we work separately sometimes,” said Mohosana before reiterating that they do not follow trends,” shared Mabogwane.
