Black Coffee only SA artist to crack DJ Mag Top 100 2019
The DJ Mag Top 100 2019 is out, and Black Coffee is the only SA artist representing.
The DJ Mag Top 100 is a tough nut to crack, representing 100 of the most coveted DJs in across the dance music spectrum; so it’s no surprise our homeboy Black Coffee made the cut, sitting at #90.
This year’s edition also features 12 new entries, including two women in techno, Peggy Gou and Charlotte De Witte.
Whereas in 2017 the list featured four women and in 2018 it rose to six, the Top 100 in 2019 features eight women, a steady rise. In fact, Alison Wonderland is the highest climber this year after moving up a massive 52 places.
In terms of genres, the highest-ranking for Drum and Bass is Andy C at #79, House is Claptone at #53, Techno is Carl Cox at #35, Hardstyle is Headhunterz at #29, Bass is Skrillex at #21, Future House is Don Diablo at #6 and Trance is Armin Van Buuren at #4.
