Black Coffee to feature in new Global Dancefloor documentary series
Black Coffee joins Madam X, Octopizzo and more in showcasing the Global Dancefloor.
Global Dancefloor is a new documentary series curated by the electronic music forces of Mixmag and Smirnoff, which sets out to explore the most riveting dance music cultures around the world.
The series consists of 9 episodes, each honing in on a different country where viewers are guided by local champions presenting an in-depth look at the sparkling music communities.
All the various cultures have one thing in common; that they are rooted in inclusivity and have a robust impact on the global music scene.
The series focuses on the ‘lesser known’ countries that have been under the radar yet infiltrating every crevice of the global music industry.
Global Dancefloor power
Mixmag will release a new Global Dancefloor episode per week, which started 1 May with Kenya’s NuNairobi movement, hosted by Octopizzo.
The episode is just under 3 minutes, so it’s not too much to commit to, yet is very informative for anyone interested in dance music culture.
The series will continue with episodes on “South Africa’s afro house scene, Angola’s innovative Kuduro genre, the vibrant party culture in Nigeria, the underground community in Beirut, high energy dance music in India, female techno talent taking over Thailand and a spotlight on the leading music collective in Jakarta,” as said by Mixmag.
