Beatport ReConnect DJ event to feature live streamed sets from Carl Cox and more
The 24-hour Beatport ReConnect DJ Event is taking place on Friday, 27 March.
With many countries imposing nation-wide lockdowns, the music industry, especially electronic music, is offering online sets and shows to keep busy, stay relevant and bring you happiness.
Artists and musicians are losing out on a lot of gig money right now, so remember to show them some support buy buying and streaming their tracks.
Online music stores are launching creative ways to help artists in this crazy time, including Bandcamp, who waived its revenue shares for sales made last Friday, 20 March, giving artists more profit.
Last night Beatport CEO Robb McDaniels sent out a blast to all users about what the company plans on doing during this crisis.
In the statement, McDaniels writes, “Beatport announced today that we are hosting a 24hr online DJ event ReConnect starting on Friday, March 27th at 8pm GMT. 24 of your favorite DJs including Carl Cox, RÜFÜS DÜ SOL (DJ set), Nina Kraviz, Bonobo, Chris Liebing, A-Trak, Nora En Pure and many more will be live streaming from their homes directly into yours.
This event will also be raising money for two incredibly important charities to help those most in need around the world and in our industry: the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO and the Association for Electronic Music’s hardship fund for their member companies.”
He closes with a powerful message:
“We create art that moves us and inspires us, and we create memories that last a lifetime. That will not change because of COVID-19; it will only drive us to do it with a greater commitment to our craft and to each other.”
So, if you’re looking to get your groove on, tune into the Beatport ReConnect DJ Event, starting this Friday- for 24-hours.
