Always on top of the latest beats, Beatport welcomes the fast-growing electronic music genre, Afro House, to its list of categories.
The influence of African rhythms and organic instrumentation on the House world stage is undeniable, and now Beatport’s Afro House page will represent the music making waves as the genre continues to evolve.
The sound has been heard by global ears thanks to South African house heroes like Culoe De Song and Black Coffee, who has been waking the world up with the sweet groovy sound of Afro House for the past few years.
Lately Afro House has been featured in sets from artists such as Innervision’s flag bearers Dixon and Henrik Schwarz.
Afro House also found a home at Berlin’s Watergate club through dedicated parties like Rise.
Afro House bounce
The Afro House page on Beatport will feature regularly rotating content from the genre’s key figures.
This will include a monthly chart from the tastemakers behind Rise as well as content from the best labels releasing Afro House, including Innervisions, Tribe Records and Kleinemusik.
The page will also feature DJ charts from the likes of Jimpster, Zepherin Saint, Hyenah and Pablo Fierro.
