Beatballs will create a Meatballs recipe from a song
Beatballs is here to let you know that if you have ever felt inclined to physically taste your favourite music, then you are not alone.
Beatballs is the work of a group of students at the Interactive Art Director program at Hyper Island in Stockholm. Their idea is to convert elements of a song into the yummy ingredients for your meatball recipe.
They have a campaign on Kickstarter and this group of fifty four students are looking forward to helping you eat your favourite electronic beats.
“Our taste experts behind Beatballs analyzed how various music attributes can be expressed through tastes, taking into consideration the social, cultural, and historical associations of both food and music. Every song has its own DNA—a unique blend of tempo, cadence, mood, and key, among other attributes. Translating these attributes into their representative flavors, Beatballs creates a tailored meatball recipe that tastes like the song.”
They used the popular song by Pharrell Williams – Happy as an example…
“‘Happy’ is played in F-minor, giving the meatball a base of chickpeas and garlic. It scores above average on energy level, tempo, chatter and mood, according to the Beatballs song analyzer. This music profile inspires additional dashes of thai basil, lemon zest, curry, and strawberries. The result is a Beatball with a ‘Happy’ twist.” Said a spokesperson
As out there and unconventional as eating your music sounds, this scheme isn’t just intended to a conceptual one. Beatballs are aimed at becoming a house hold regular with something called the Beatballizer which will be putting together your musical meat balls for you.
With the money that they make from the fundraising on Kickstarter they would like to produce a version of the Beatballizer that could easily fit in your kitchen. There are probably many music lovers just mentally making lists in their heads of all the tracks they would like to taste.
