Spoek Mathambo & Aero Manyelo release Batuk Daniel EP
The Batuk Daniel EP is the result of some incredible combinations of tribal and electronic music by the newly formed Batuk.

Batuk is a creative collective founded by Spoek Mathambo & Aero Manyelo and the vocalist artist, Manteiga. Batuk’s debut EP is a testament to some fresh electronic sounds that are completely and perfectly Southern African.\
When a musician is capable of representing who they are and where they come from in the art and music that they create, they inspire admiration, respect, and a willing audience. It’s easy as an artist to get caught up in the idea that only one style will get you noticed and that, that is what will put on to the path of relevance and mainstream success. But passion, genuine artistry, and honest expression is what will draw in listeners that need little other persuasion to pay attention to you and what you do.
The Batuk Daniel EP contains two original tracks, namely Daniel and Reya Congo. Each track embodies a hypnotic version of tribal house and features the vocals of Nandi Ndlovu who is a frequent collaborator.
Accompanying the two original tracks on the Batuk Daniel EP, are remixes from a list of international producers such as German luso music aficionado Daniel Haaksman, Angolan afrohouse duo Homeboyz Music, and producer/DJ Freddy Da Stupid from the neighbouring Mozambique.
The single release is accompanied by a beautifully shot and trippy music video with an undeniably authentic African feel. The video was produced for the track titled ‘Daniel’ shot on location in Mozambique by Kent Andreasen, who is an acclaimed young photographer/director.
The Batuk collective will be on a European tour this February, they will be playing in Berlin, Zurich, and Geneva.
