Baby born in nightclub gets free entrance for life
Both the mom and baby born in O’Club in Toulouse, France are healthy and doing well.
Not the most fairytale birth story ever, albeit it’s a unique one.
Convinced to go by her friend, a heavily pregnant 19-year-old woman went to O’Club in the French city of Toulouse to escape some personal problems (she wasn’t drinking).
Little did she know that she would meet her baby later that night.
At 5:30 am on Monday, 11 November the as-yet-unnamed woman went into labour… With no time to spare, the club’s staff jumped in to help the lady give birth and stay calm in what would have been a pretty dangerous situation- clubs may deliver music and good times, but certainly isn’t known for delivering babies.
Bizarre closing
Speaking to La Depeche, club manager Marie-Helene said: “It was 5.30 am, the club was just closing, There wasn’t a lot of people left in the place and one of my members of staff came over to me and said ‘it’s urgent’.
“I could see that the woman was about to give birth. But we had to act quickly. A member of staff called the emergency medical line who talked us through what we had to do.
“The young woman didn’t seem too panicked but she was worried. Then the baby came out.”
“It’s one of the more bizarre closings we’ve had. My team worked together. We all cried. The positive thing to come out of all of this is that none of us panicked and weren’t scared. Anyway, we got it done.”
O’Club then thought it only fair that given it was his legal place of birth, the baby deserves free entry to the club for life- when he is of age, obviously.
The manager added: “We hope she keeps us updated with how everything goes.”
Having your baby born in a nightclub would make an excellent episode of “How you met your mother.”
